Countdown
08.25.04 (9:00 am) [edit]
I must pack today and prepare for the big trip tomorrow. Yes, of course, I will take the shawl I am working on and some fiber and my drop spindle. Also, included in my knitting bag is a pair of Magic Loop socks I am knitting (both socks at once). I suppose that should be enough to keep me occupied in the car and in between siteseeing.

Vacation Ahead

Well, it is T minus 36 hours until the big vacation. I am off tomorrow, so will be doing laundry, packing and shopping for food items to take with us. We are going to Virginia, which is close to heaven, since yarn and fiber shops abound. I am finally going to get to visit The Woolery in North Carolina, too. (Yeah, like I really need more fiber) :? I live in an area which tends to be a "fiber desert", so I am very excited!

Lavender Denim
08.22.04 (9:36 am) [edit]
Here is a picture of the Falkland Wool that I dyed. I really love Falkland Wool. It is so very predictable - easy to spin, takes dye wonderfully, is very soft and has a gorgeous sheen to it.

What am I going to make with it once it is spun? I don't know yet, which seems to be much in the way of many spinners I know.

New Blog
08.21.04 (4:08 pm) [edit]
I am trying out a new blog. I think after blogging for almost a year that I am ready for a new look.
In spinning dyeing news this week. I dyed 5-6 oz. of Falkland wool a luscious indigo/lavender shade. Not exactly rainbow dyed, more like an impressionistic painting. I loved the way the roving performed. It is still as soft as ever, and it did not felt a bit.
