There's a New Kid in Town!
09.27.05 (12:35 pm)   [edit]
Thanks to Sharon, another one of my Yarn Yarn Sisters, I have found out we have a brand new yarn shop on St. Simon's Island. Fuzzy Mabel, originally an internet only store, has opened a brand new shop! It is only about a week old. I got the chance to visit today, and all I can say is WOW! (And for a spinner, that is saying a lot.) A humorous bit here: her shop is directly across the street from where I used to live. I guess it is a good thing I no longer live quite that close to so much temptation. Anyhow, she is a very upbeat lady, and we hit it off immediately! Who says there isn't good news anymore?

Perfect Accessories!

Denise, one of my Yarn Yarn Sisters (our local knitting group) is an accomplished beader. I bought some stitch markers from her - I knew there would be beads, but she surprised me by personalizing them. Aren't they drop dead adorable?

Gotta Love 'Em
09.14.05 (4:02 am)   [edit]
Yesterday, I had a nice surprise. Tucked in the mail, along with my pay statement from work (I use direct deposit) was a gift card from Target for $75.00 with the comment "Thanks for all of your hard work!" Wow! I haven't even worked for this company 2 months yet, and I am part time at that! What a nice company I have landed with.

I love my first Clapotis (from inexpensive yarn) so much, I am making another from a luxury handpainted alpaca yarn (Atacamia). The lighting does not seem to do it justice. Just try to imagine a mixed berry pie, and you will get a better idea of what we are dealing with here.
