Enough Mental Fluff!
10.28.05 (1:14 pm)   [edit]
Here's some fiber fluff instead! Dyed from bugs, sawdust and twigs. Sounds like I am regressing into a little boy or something, but look what it produced!

Yeah, At Last We Got Something Right!

Compliments of Denise, head Ya Ya.

Super long sock
Wow! You would have been a pair of socks as long
as it's possible for socks to be before they're
tights - and all multi-coloured with pretty
patterns and detail all over the place - then
you could stand and admire your sock-self all
day!

What type of sock are you?

Storm Chasing - Sorta
10.24.05 (5:27 am)   [edit]
No, we weren't chasing the storm (Wilma), but I suppose it was chasing us. We had to attend a continuing education conference in Orlando on Friday through Sunday. Fortunately, we had time to attend the necessary sessions to obtain our hours and even had a little time yesterday afternoon to attend the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. (Which, by the way, is a very interesting experience in itself). Around 4:30, we headed for home in some drizzly like weather with a moderate amount of wind, but were safely home in our beds well before Wilma made landfall in Florida.

Gee Thanks - Not!
10.16.05 (10:16 am)   [edit]
I got this quiz from Elayne and wasn't happy with the results. Given enough time, I will be... after all.

Your Hair Should Be White

Classy, stylish, and eloquent.

You've got a way about you that floors everyone you meet.

Still in Its Feral State
10.15.05 (9:19 am)   [edit]
But I couldn't wait any longer to post a picture! This was a natural darkish beige skein to begin with. Mordanted with alum, dyed with extracted dyestuff from osage orange sawdust. Yes, I want to pursue this further!

Call Me Nutty
10.14.05 (12:44 pm)   [edit]
But I am playing around with mixing alum mordant and soaking some osage orange bark for natural dyeing. I bought the book Wild Color, and it has inspired me (or will drive me insane - if I am not already). More to come...

Whooosh
10.07.05 (4:55 pm)   [edit]
Hectic, hectic week! Haven't had a chance or the ambition to blog.
