They have since gone on to live with other people as we just did not have time to take care of them all properly. posted by: Elsje (reply) post date: 05.22.06 (7:33 pm) I found your blog sort of randomly from the spinning webring... I have a Timneh too, Ajax, he/she is 5 1/2 now and talks up a storm. He's a sweet bird (except when he's not!). posted by: Carolynh (reply) post date: 05.23.06 (2:48 am) Wow, Donna... 5 birds!! I am sure between them they DID take up most of your time. Elsje, I totally understand what you mean when you say he's a sweet bird, except when he's not. You can't always predict how they will react, can you? I'm glad you found my blog ;) posted by: PastorDave (reply) post date: 05.27.06 (11:18 am) Beautiful bird. I visit paritioners in a local nursing home, and always stop to talk with the resident parrot. He and I have become buddies, and I truly think he recognizes and likes me. I'll play fetch with him with his little toys, and scratch his head. If these things did not cost so darn much, I'd buy one. Beautiful, intelligent, and interesting friends. By the way, attractive site. First time I've seen it. posted by: bronwynj (reply) post date: 07.06.06 (5:11 pm) Was it difficult to teach him to talk? How did you do it? Does it take up much of your time & effort to care for him? posted by: Carolynh (reply) post date: 07.06.06 (5:24 pm) No, it was not difficult to teach our bird to talk. She just picked it up. But, yes, she is very demanding - and wants as much attention as we can give her. It is almost like having a baby again. |
